When we went about designing the newest member of our Silent Violin family, we took a close look at the knowledge gained in the design and development of our acoustic violins. That vast amount of knowledge brought new insights into the complexities involved when bow is applied to string for the purpose of creating beautiful acoustic tone. Our craftsmen’s ability to combine that knowledge into a unique blend of tradition and technology produced an instrument that closes the gap between acoustic and electric violins. An instrument that offers the advantages that an electric instrument can deliver, while feeling, playing and sounding closer to an acoustic than its predecessors. That instrument is the new SV-200 Silent Violin. Designed for the violinist that wants more from an electric instrument, it delivers greater expression, playability and a tone that is natural and pure. An instrument that is just as adept on stage as in the studio. An instrument that is meant to be heard. The SV-200 joins our Silent Violin family along with the new SV-120 Silent Violin. An instrument that has undergone some refinements for greater sound and playability. |

| Dual Pickups Deliver Greater Dynamic Range The SV-200 uses a two pickup configuration to double the “resolution” of the pickup system for greater dynamic range. Pickups are mounted under the bridge with one under the leg on the high string side, the other under the leg on the low string side. The greater resolution allows the instrument to respond in greater detail, providing the performer with the ability to play from pianissimo to fortissimo with greater clarity and ease. Output from the Line Out jack is monaural, but when heard through a pair of headphones connected to the SV-200’s headphones jack, you’ll hear the violin’s sound spread out naturally within the stereo field of the headphones. A Special EQ Control The SV-200 utilizes a specially designed circuit that isolates and controls the instrument’s upper harmonics, which have a great influence on the overall tone and sound produced by the instrument. This capability to modify the tonal color of the instrument, to a harder or softer tone, provides the SV-200 with greater flexibility in adjusting to individual playing styles, room conditions, the PA system, etc., plus a tone that is much closer to that of an acoustic violin’s. The use of the EQ control also allows the SV-200 to excel when vibrato is used. By providing greater response the instrument delivers a vibrato sound that is closer to acoustic than previous electric violins. New Frame Design Drawing upon knowledge gained from the design and development of our acoustic violins, our craftsmen have provided the SV-200 with a more natural, closer to acoustic feel and enhanced playability. The oval shaped neck is finished with a thin layer of a specially formulated finish that offers a feel identical to an acoustic violin. The frame has been extended further around past the chin rest so as to accommodate nearly any standard chin and/or shoulder rest. So if you have a particular rest design that you are accustomed to chances are it will fit the SV-200 perfectly. A floating tailpiece enhances tone from the strings and the Line Out jack is positioned so the cord can be draped over the performer’s shoulder keeping it out of the way during performance. Quality Sound Deserves Quality Electronics Quality electronic circuitry used in the instrument has made the SV-200 virtually noise free. The impedance of the Line Out jack is optimized for use with professional audio equipment making the SV-200 perfect for stage or studio use where quality sound is a must. When performing live, feedback is no worry since the instrument uses no microphone and its solid body isn’t as susceptible to vibration as an acoustic instrument’s is. For high-end users, the SV-200 is equipped with an EQ mode switch that allows the user to skip the built-in EQ’s default setting so you can take advantage of high-end equalization and tone controls available with professional audio equipment. |

| The new SV-120 provides violinists of all levels with the experience of playing in the sonically rich, virtual environment of a concert hall while silent characteristics also offer the advantage of being able to play or practice anytime, anywhere. Refined with an oval shaped neck and advanced circuitry the SV-120 offers enhanced playability and cleaner sound along with its full-bodied tone and volume. The SV-120S is a full set version that includes the SV-120 Silent Violin, a hard case, plus nearly everything you need to get started. Spacious Reverb A special chip designed by Yamaha supplies the SV-120 with built-in reverb that envelops the instrument’s tone with rich reverb, giving you and your listeners the realistic impression that you are performing on stage. Three variations, Large Hall, Medium Hall or Room make practicing or playing more exciting than ever before. |
